CompuDoc 8 has maintained the ease
of use and time saving features for which it is well known, and added the
following improvements. The items marked with an asterisk
are new to version 8
* New CompuDoc database is
Client\Server
- Database supports Client\Server operations, simple
to setup - an SQL Server database without the 2Gb limitations
- Database can be run in client\server or file server
mode
- No external DLLs are necessary - the database engine is built into the
CompuDoc application file
- Simpler, more robust table reindexing and repairing
- Vastly reduced risk of data corruption
- Faster loading, greatly reduced network traffic
* Paperless DVA
- CompuDoc 8 uses the latest (Nov 2010) Medicare
adaptor

report
- Quickly search the patient table for all
organisations, or all deceased for example. Combine any search with the
requirement that the patient's date of birth be before (or after) a
certain date.
Faster more flexible Reprint or Delete
- Only the last 100 patients are loaded into memory by default.
- Filter by invoice number, patient name, patient ID, or claim number.
- Discount, write off invoices, and alter claim numbers in Reprint or
Delete.
Clinical notes

Add a new note while
prescribing, or a prescription while adding a note.

The patient's current and
previous medications are listed right alongside the note.

Notes are protected from being
edited after midnight on the day of their creation.

Scanning support
- Scan directly to image without scanner's interface application.
- Save scanned images in holding bay and assign to patients later.
- Crop, rotate, zoom images.
- Change colour depth - reduce colour images to black and white.
- Import images directly without scanning.
- Save images in different formats.
- Save a note and description of every record.
Better recall letter support
- Create, Edit or Search is available in both Demographics and Clinical
pages.
- The notification messages are always visible in both Demographics and
Clinical pages.
- A message is always visible on the CompuDoc status bar, from any page,
when recalls are due or overdue.
Better training facilities
- A Demo database may be dynamically hooked\unhooked to allow staff
training.
- Accounts and prescriptions printed in Demo mode are overprinted with
watermarks.
- Most facilities have dummy records that may be added to and edited
without fear of interfering with the practice's records.
Waiting Room
- Appointments and Waiting Room are directly linked allowing billing
from the Waiting Room to alter the appointment's icon.
- Records cannot be edited and left indefinitely in an edit state - all
editing is via a pop-up window activated by new edit bar or
double-clicking on a record.
Patient archive and merge utility
- Remove inactive or deceased patients to an archive.
- Return accidentally archived patients from the archive.
- Automatically Merge patient data (billing, clinical etc) when patient
archived.
- Manually merge records without archiving.
- The SyncNumbers utility contains a Data Integrity Report to monitor
such movements.
More password control options
- CompuDoc may be set to require password access at start-up, or other
critical areas.
- Set password requirements for record editing - discounting, writing
off etc.
