CompuDoc 7 has maintained the ease
of use and time saving features for which it is well known, and added the
following improvements.
New CompuDoc database is
Client\Server ready
- Database supports Client\Server operations, only needs programme
changes to function as true Client\Server - an SQL Server type of database
without the 2Gb limitations.
- No BDE setup or configuration issues.
- No external DLLs are necessary - the database engine is built into the
CompuDoc application file.
- Simpler, more robust table reindexing and repairing.
- Vastly reduced risk of data corruption.
- Many facilities load in less than half the time.
Vast improvements in CompuPad
editor
- Mail merge letters to a target demographic, using templates that may
be re-used and customised.
- The label printer in the mail merge facility allows printing to begin
at a specific label on the sheet.
- Spell checker and thesaurus are included.
- Simple Query allows data tables to be queried in plain English,
without your having to learn SQL.
More accounting functions
- Invoices may be discounted and written off.
- Discount, write-off and delete functions are available in 'Acct
Summary', 'Reprint or Delete' and 'Outstanding accounts'.
- Discounts and write-offs are identified on patients statements.
- Reduced risk of billing with old claim (batch) number - all claim
numbers are checked at the time of billing, and a warning issued if that
claim number has been used on a DB1.
Audit Trail
- Discounts and write-offs may (optionally) only be performed by level 4
or 5 users, after the user has been identified.
- The Audit Trail Report displays who performed the alteration, when,
and why.
- An Audit trail report prints a record of all record modifications.
- Mismatched Bulk Bill claims that have been altered after transmission
of the claim are identified in BatchTracker, and a special version of the
Audit Trail report can display all modifications to that claim number's
records.
Faster more flexible Reprint or Delete
- Only the last 100 patients are loaded into memory by default.
- Filter by invoice number, patient name, patient ID, or claim number.
- Discount, write off invoices, and alter claim numbers in Reprint or
Delete.
More functions in Account Summary
- Accounts may be overpaid in Acct. Summary, allowing 'credit' to be
built up. Shows as payment in statements and Banking report.
- Open Reprint or Delete instantly, showing just the invoice that was
highlighted in Account Summary.
- Pay, Delete, Discount or write off invoices from Account Summary -
without having to open Reprint or Delete.
- Include\exclude archived records in the patient's Account Summary
list.
Better Medclaims support
- Claim numbers are automatically incremented (if possible) as soon as a
DB1 is printed. Only if the number has been used before is it necessary to
open AutoBatch.
- BatchTracker provides instant access to the Audit Trail report in the
case of claims that have had invoices altered since transmission.
Clinical notes
-
Add a new note while
prescribing, or a prescription while adding a note.
-
The patient's current and
previous medications are listed right alongside the note.
-
Notes are protected from being
edited after midnight on the day of their creation.
-
Add an addendum at any time.
Prescription writing
- Uses the latest MIMS data, including interactions.
- Save Doctor's favourites.
- Fast re-issuing of repeated items by selecting the item and clicking
on Print.
- Drug Finder is always available for trade and generic types.
- Find trade or generic names.
- Pop up illustrated MIMS Product Information.
- Pop up and print CMI.
Scanning support
- Scan directly to image without scanner's interface application.
- Save scanned images in holding bay and assign to patients later.
- Crop, rotate, zoom images.
- Change colour depth - reduce colour images to black and white.
- Import images directly without scanning.
- Save images in different formats.
- Save a note and description of every record.
Better recall letter support
- Create, Edit or Search is available in both Demographics and Clinical
pages.
- The notification messages are always visible in both Demographics and
Clinical pages.
- A message is always visible on the CompuDoc status bar, from any page,
when recalls are due or overdue.
Better training facilities
- A Demo database may be dynamically hooked\unhooked to allow staff
training.
- Accounts and prescriptions printed in Demo mode are overprinted with
watermarks.
- Most facilities have dummy records that may be added to and edited
without fear of interfering with the practice's records.
Waiting Room improvements
- Appointments and Waiting Room are directly linked allowing billing
from the Waiting Room to alter the appointment's icon.
- Records cannot be edited and left indefinitely in an edit state - all
editing is via a pop-up window activated by new edit bar or
double-clicking on a record.
Patient archive and merge utility
- Remove inactive or deceased patients to an archive.
- Return accidentally archived patients from the archive.
- Automatically Merge patient data (billing, clinical etc) when patient
archived.
- Manually merge records without archiving.
- The SyncNumbers utility contains a Data Integrity Report to monitor
such movements.
More password control options
- CompuDoc may be set to require password access at start-up, or other
critical areas.
- Set password requirements for record editing - discounting, writing
off etc.
New backup programme
- Backs up to a single file.
- File size can be reduced considerably by compression.
- Restore function can replace the entire database with a backup.
Up to the minute interface
- XP style presentation can be customised extensively.
- Uses less resources in Win 98 than earlier versions, despite being
larger.
- More pages in the Tutorial, though CompuDoc 7 uses less resources.
